About Us
Uganda's Gorilla Trekking Specialists | Built on Local Knowledge
At Gorilla Hike Uganda, we believe that trekking with mountain gorillas is one of the most profound wildlife experiences on earth — and we’ve built our entire operation around making it accessible, well-organised, and deeply personal.
We are a Kampala-based safari company founded by Ugandans who grew up alongside these forests. Our team has guided hundreds of trekkers through the ancient trails of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park — and we know these landscapes the way most people know their own neighbourhood.
We don’t try to cover all of Africa. Uganda is our specialisation and our home. That focus means better guides, better permit access, better lodges, and a smoother experience from the moment you land to the moment you leave.
Over half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas live in Uganda. We think that’s extraordinary — and we think every traveller who comes here deserves to experience it properly.

Our Mission: Connect People with Uganda's Wildlife — Responsibly
Our mission is simple: to give every traveller the best possible chance of a meaningful, safe, and well-supported gorilla trek — while making sure that the communities and ecosystems that make it possible continue to thrive.
We work directly with the Uganda Wildlife Authority, source permits through official channels, partner with community-owned lodges, and hire locally trained guides who know Bwindi’s trails intimately. Every booking made through Gorilla Hike Uganda directly supports conservation efforts and local employment in the communities around the park.
“Uganda surprised me every single day. Everything felt real and not rushed. If you want nature, good people, and a trip that feels personal, this company is amazing.”

What We Stand For
Everything we do at Gorilla Hike Uganda is guided by three commitments: to the wildlife we protect, the travellers we serve, and the communities we work with. We operate with full transparency on permit costs, no hidden fees, and clear communication throughout your booking. We hire local. We give back to the forest. And we make sure every trek leaves you changed — and leaves the gorillas undisturbed.
Conservation First
We operate under UWA guidelines, enforce the 7-metre gorilla viewing rule, and donate a portion of every booking to the Uganda Conservation Foundation

Traveler Tales & Experiences
Kodwo Mensah EmmanuelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Booked mainly for the gorillas but the chimpanzee trek ended up being just as memorable. Watching them move through the forest is something else. The itinerary was well paced, not too rushed, and our driver knew the roads and parks really well. A few long drives, but that’s Uganda. Overall, very smooth experience and felt well looked after throughout. Collins JohnathanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Immersive experience thanks to the interactivity of the guides I'd say. It was nice getting up close and out of tv with nature silas kateegaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We reached out for a 07 day safari in Uganda. And these guys delivered beyond imagined. Uganda is an amazing country as we all learned though this company. The gorillas, primates, rhinos, the cats!! Incredible. The whole team was helpful. Thank you once again. Gwan DinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sister and I did the 4 day Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth trip and it was amazing. The gorilla trek was the big moment for us. You wear masks when you get close because they can catch our sickness and we can catch theirs, so it felt very respectful. Bring really good trekking shoes, trust me. Kazinga Channel boat cruise in the evening was our favorite time for photos. So much wildlife and beautiful light. Dust and Echo took care of everything and we felt safe the whole trip. Highly recommend Dryden FrostTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did the 12 day safari with Dust and Echo and it was honestly incredible. I travel alone for my vlog and sometimes it is stressful, but this trip felt easy from the first day. My guide Patrick was patient and very calm, and he always knew when I needed time to film or just enjoy the view. Uganda surprised me every single day. Murchison Falls, the chimps in Kibale, the gorillas in Bwindi, the long drives through small villages. Everything felt real and not rushed. The lodges were simple in the best way and the food was great. I always felt safe and looked after. If you travel solo and want nature, good people and a trip that feels personal, this company is amazing. I will come back for sure. We booked the three day fly in gorilla trek with Dust and Echo and the whole trip ran smoothly from the start. The flight to Kisoro was quick and our driver Patrick was already waiting when we landed. The Chameleon Hill Lodge where we stayed felt calm and had a great view of the forest, which helped settle the nerves before the trek. The hike itself was tougher than we expected but worth every bit of effort. We found a family of gorillas after a couple of hours and the moment felt strangely normal in the best way. No crowd, no chaos, just quiet time watching them feed and move around us. Everything from transfers to permits was handled without any stress on our side. Communication was clear and we never felt rushed. If you want a trip that feels personal instead of packaged, this team does it well.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
