Trip Overview
A single day is not much time to work with. That constraint shapes everything about this itinerary.
The early start, the border crossing, the compressed pacing, all of it is in service of one thing, a quiet hour in the presence of mountain gorillas inside Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Starting from Kigali changes the equation. The southern sectors of Bwindi sit closer to Rwanda than to Uganda’s own capital, which makes this cross-border route surprisingly efficient. Still, it demands discipline.
There is little room for delays, and no space for filler experiences. What you get instead is focus. Forest, ascent, anticipation, and then the moment when the trackers stop and gesture forward.
