This 8-day Uganda safari provides an intensive journey through the country’s premier wildlife corridors, from the primate-rich canopy of Kibale to the high-altitude ridges of Bwindi.

It is a study in biodiversity, pairing the intensity of the forest with the rhythmic stillness of Lake Bunyonyi.

The geography of Western Uganda is defined by the Albertine Rift, a tectonic scar that has created a diverse tapestry of crater lakes, ancient rainforests, and open savannas.

This 8-day expedition traces that scar, moving from the central plateau into the humid, vocal heart of Kibale Forest before descending into the rift floor of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Here, the landscape shifts from dense hardwoods to acacia-dotted plains, where the wildlife is dictated by the availability of water along the Kazinga Channel and the specialized climbing behavior of the Ishasha lions.

The journey culminates in the vertical fortress of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This is a region of immense biological gravity, home to the mountain gorilla and a sanctuary for ancient human traditions.

Rather than treating these destinations as isolated stops, this itinerary frames the journey as a continuous evolutionary narrative.

You will witness the frantic social intelligence of chimpanzees, the predatory precision of the savanna’s big cats, and the profound, silent presence of the mountain gorilla, finishing with a reflective retreat on the mist-laden waters of Lake Bunyonyi.

Highlights

  • Tracking vocal chimpanzee communities in Kibale + observing their complex social hierarchies, and a guided walk in Bigodi wetland.
